Overview
Lithogen is a geophysical equipment distributor and rental company serving clients primarily in Canada and the USA. We’re centrally located in the beautiful city of Winnipeg, Manitoba, a few kilometres from the longitudinal centre of Canada and just north of North Dakota/Minnesota border. Founded in 2020, Lithogen has built quality relationships with industry leading manufacturers to be able to provide quality geophysical tools and service to users of every variety.

We maintain a large pool of well maintained and reliable equipment and are available 7 days a week to provide technical assistance.

Key Personnel
Troy Unrau, P.Geo
Co-founder and Technical Lead
Prior to co-founding Lithogen, Troy delved into the many various geophysical pursuits, from planetary science, mineral exploration, environmental and geotechnical consulting, to instrument hardware and software development. This experience has spanned Canada and beyond, from the oil sands in Alberta to the metal-rich deserts of South America to contaminated cold war era outposts in the high arctic. Furthermore, he has a history in open-source software design and a predisposition towards ‘outside the box’ solutions. When a geophysical solution doesn’t exist, but should, Troy is the one to make it happen. As Technical Lead at Lithogen, Troy’s goal is to provide the highest level of technical aptitude, service, and support to our rental and services clients.
Tomasz Kalkowski, B.Sc., MBA
Co-founder and Business Lead
Tom has a diverse background that includes automotive prototype design, military engineering, mineral exploration, infrastructure management, and aviation. His particular passion in earth sciences has given him the opportunity to work all over Canada conducting a variety of geotechnical, geological, and geophysical surveys. Tom’s focus as Business Lead at Lithogen is to make sure the company does not go bankrupt.
